Alvin Tolentino's “She Said” – featuring vibrant contemporary Dance

She SaidNew Choreography by Alvin Tolentino and Co. Erasga
February 9 – 12, 2005

She
Said is a landscape of conversation between kinetic and vibrant images
woven together for a rich theatrical choreographic staging that comes
to life, natural and transparent. This ongoing dance project currently
consists of researched materials transformed into numerous solos, duets
and trios. Tolentino’s goal is to select the choreography with the
greatest potential from an abundance of existing and newly created
materials and create a new 60 minute dance piece set for three dancers
supported with a multi-media component.

“My
aim is to raise the issues of the body as a vessel: a source of
spiritual manifestation that brings faith and hope to us, magnifying
the beauty of life and death” states Tolentino.

The
dancers are Anne Cooper, Delia Brett and Caroline Farquhar, lighting
designer James Proudfoot and composer Ted Hamilton are on board for
this creative journey exploring the combination of traditional with
contemporary musical idioms.
