We’re all encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle, but what does that involve and how do we get there? Health doesn’t just entail eating right or exercising. 1. Follow a Balanced Diet

3. Keep Moving

Smoking is an addictive behaviour that carries no health benefits. Smokers are at greater risk of serious health issues, including lung disease, heart attack and stroke. The food was good and the haggis was tasty.
However, Floata's service was not acceptable.
1. We didn't get the Hoshin Sauce for the wrap
2. Most dishes didn't come with serving spoon.
3. We had to look for a knife to cut open the haggis.
4. The presentation of the Crispy Chicken was terrible. The chef just tossed the chicken pieces back to the plate without trying to make it look like a chicken. I suspected that the Chef had pocketed a few pieces for himself. Not acceptable.
5. They failed to give us clean plates after each course.
6. They failed to bring us rice bowls for the fried rice.
7. They should not have brought out the mango pudding in a plate. Every guest should get a serving of the mango pudding in a clean bowl with a spoon.
8. The oil that used for frying the taro basket passed its prime. The oil was ready to turn into biodiesel.
9. I don't know whether they paid any attention while cleaning the new glasses. I noticed a sticker was still intact with a wine glass.
10. When a waiter took away an empty plate, he simply tossed the serving spoon to another plate of the food. Not acceptable.

Thank you for the comments. I will indeed be taking your comments to Floata management. We try our best. There are so many elements that go into the Gung Haggis Fat Choy dinner – food, music, poetry, audience participation. Every element is important. And “presentation” is also a big part of the dinner too – both on stage and on the dinner table.
Management was given directions:
– bring a knife with each haggis (table guests like to cut their own haggis, and do their own “Address to a Haggis”)
– After the appetizers are served, bring each dish out every 20 minutes…. we waited about 45 minutes before the soup came out. This really affects programming, because we have blocked in “eating time” for the audience.
– By the time the haggis came out, we had to revamp some of our programming. Because you can't dig into the haggis, without first performing “Address to a Haggis.”
We did taste-test the food at a rehearsal dinner 2 weeks prior to the event. And the food was very good as well as the service. We did change some of the courses.
There are always unexpected surprises to any large event. Our expected audience size jumped dramatically in the last week due to media stories. Rather than turn people away on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we opted to be inclusive and continue to accommodate late comers. After guests started arriving at 5pm, we still had to add 3 tables to accommodate guests – partly due to missing guest lists.
Hopefully next year's event will sell out quickly, and we will limit the audience size ahead of time.
I am thinking of re-imagining the 2010 Gung Haggis Fat Choy dinner for next year. It doesn't have to be in a Chinese restaurant. It could be in a military drill hall… It could be in a hotel ballroom… It could be in Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria!
