Karen
Larson's new cd arrived in my mail box last week, and I listened to it
for hours. It's been years in the making, and it's been wonderful to
see her mature over the past years. Classic singer songwriter style with tinges of folk,
jazz, country and blues. Just like some of my favorite singer
songwriters Norah Jones, Shawn Colvin, and especially Mary Chapin
Carpenter It's perfect for thoughtful evenings by the fire, or on the computer. There are many introspective songs about love, lost and longing… and personal journey. This makes it easily relatable for many listeners whether they want to take “A Walk on the Moon”, feel “Soul Neglection”, or question “This Love.”

Karen has a wonderful voice, it can have a plaintive achy quality of heart break on “How Love Goes”, or a bluesey growl of world weary indifference on “Not Far Away” or “Blue.”
Karen performed at the Gung Haggis
Fat Choy dinner in 2004, singing Loch Lomand… and amazed the
audience with her voice and beauty.
April 3rd, Karen will be performing at St. James
Community Hall, 3214 10th Avenue West & Trutch. $15 It will be a
wonderful night!
